Green Screen Simulation

Many have used a paint program to remove an object from a digital photo and place it on a different background.

There is an easy way and hard way to perform this action. A hard way is to paint a green or blue background carefully around the main subject and then load the image (and a background photo) into Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Then the Chroma Keyer can be used.

How about video that was originally shot WITHOUT using a green screen background?

Is there a way to simulate a green screen behind the subject? Would a future upgrade feature this option? What a great feature this would be!

Yes, if your camera is mounted on a tripod, you can do this. It is called a difference key, and you can find several threads about this in the links below, along with a demo showing how two cats can be put into the same scene, without any use of green screen technology.

Ditto the above...and regarding putting stils on green backgrounds, if it is your intent to drop the green out for a transparent background in Vegas, don't bother with the green background, just leave the background transparent and save the file as a psd file and vegas will take it as is with a transparent background.
