Grouping favorite Video FX, and Keyboard Shortcuts

In any version of Vegas 14, 15, 16 -- has anyone found an effective way to group together, or quickly access, frequently used Video FX? I apply media-level effects, creates subclips as-needed for "override" and apply video event FX frequently on multi-cam shoots where colors need tweaking -- having quick access to a handful of these frequently used FX would be VERY helpful. I do use Filter Packages which helps.. but it's not quite complete a solution.

Also -- any way to create a subclip via a Keyboard shortcut? Vegas 14 doesn't have that working.

Totally agree with you .. Vegas Pro should offer a way to create favorite groups (or folders) not just for Video FX, but also for Transitions and Media Generators as well. It will be a great time saver.

What is Filter Packages? Would you please elaborate on that?

When you have a series of FX applied, in the "Event FX" dialog, you can click the icon on the right to save the "Plug-in-Chain". When you do that (Save-As) it saves it as a "Plug-in Package" (they use the terms interchangeably it seems).

You can then get to these from the "Filter Packages" folder/icon in the Video FX plug-in chooser, OR by opening View.Window.Plug-in-Manager.

One useful thing with Plug-In-Manager is that in the right-hand pane, for both Transitions AND Video FX, you can create FOLDERS, and you can move (not copy) your favorite or frequently used effects into your custom folder. You can also move your own custom "Filter Packages" (which contain specific effects and their preset/settings) into those custom folders. SO.. with a bit of planning, there IS a way to create "favorites" by creating copies of your favorite effects in custom-named Filter Packages, and then putting them into a folder called "Favorites".

:-)

OK.. fine.. you made me answer my own question. (work-around)
