Haa! Good ole Sony Software!

I bought Vegas 8 literally minutes after it appeared on the download site. As a result I payed too much since they had the $149.00 promo offer come out a day or so later.

I emailed and asked for an overpayment refund and they just came through for me... credited my Visa $100!

I remember in my Avid days trying to get some money back... very much like pulling teeth from a live bull with a rusty set of pliers.

So you are not dead. The Liquid says you were deactivated. I assumed you either died or moved to Edmonton (which is the same as being dead).

LOL!

No, not dead... just banned yet again.... for complaining about the locked posts and the somewhat NON democratic ways of the Avid forums. Told Marianna that I had settled in with Sony Vegas because liquid was sliding into the toilet and the forum has turned into a Communist joke. I think they some how took offense to that statement... although I don't know why... I'm merely telling the truth! :)

I just got 8 for free after my 7, I just bought, would not work with vst. I wrote tech support and they just gave me 8. I love vegas!!. I have to work with Avid at work.....I HATE IT. At least they could take vegas's leed and but a graphic thumbnail on the FX and Transistions. I cant tell what the effect looks like until I put it on the time line. I can do only 1 effect at a time with news cutter. No layer....WHAT?

I wouldn't worry much, the good old Liquid boys will prolly kill the product soon anyways with the closed club mentalilty of theirs, the part AVID hasn't managed to kill off themselves already. Better off in Vegas town.

you prolly know how embedded avid is in hollywood studios. i got sick of hearing a local editor exclaim the benefits of avid over vegas. does me some good to think avid is going down.

I've noticed this on this forum quite a bit lately and, since it's one of my "pet peeves", I feel compelled to say something: The word is "probably" not "prolly."

Bill,

I wasn't singling you out as many, many people do it. My other pet peeve is using "walla" when the word is actually "voilà"

John...
Well, truth is, I understand your point. My mom was an English teacher. The internet has spawned a whole new language of acronymns. Anyone who spent any time in the military proBABly dislikes contractions and acronymns. But, the times are what they are. And, surely, any typing shortcut is worth the reduction in effort. IMHO, anyway.
