Grazie,
Discussed a bit ago http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=560164Here[/link]

Matter of fact, looks like you made a few comments about 6-7 posts down. Losing your focus over there?

It seems that the prices being quoted do not include the CF card recorder.
If you're buying it for the interchangeable lens feature factor in that another lens could well double the asking price.
Seems to me it'll be the ideal Sony camera if you want to use a 35mm adaptor.

Bob,
The CF card recorders are included with the camera - not an additional option. See a half hour announcement vid here from IBC.

There's a pretty nice brochure http://www.sonybiz.net/res/attachment/file/81/1193315642481.pdfhere.[/link]

There is also an http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=161HVR-Z7/HVR-S270 forum[/link] on it at DVInfo.net

I'll watch right through that when I get a bit more time.
However the prices we've been quoted for the Z7 are in line with what Grazie was quoting but did not include the CF card recorder, that was an additional cost, don't have the figures at the moment as I kind of lost interest when I was told that.
Of course it'd be good to be wrong or to findout that local Sony are trying to pull a swifty, wouldn't be the first time.

That's a great brochure, Laurence. Tks..

Bob,
Brochure also states that the CF unit is included with both cameras, but not a CF card.
For tape based systems, a great choice no doubt. I was seriously looking at the PDW-335, but may need to to re-evaluate whether the cost differential is warranted (for me).

Thanks,
I'll certainly follow that up. I'm only going on what I was told was what we were quoted and it kind of surprised me seeing as how I don't think there was ever a publicity shot of the camera minus the CF card recorder. We were given two prices, one for the camera and one for the recorder, Sony AU may have decided to sell them differently down here but if Sony AU are asking same rough price for just the camera as they're being sold stateside with the recorder something will change for sure. Conversely if Sony AU are selling the camera unbundled at a much cheaper price then that's a good thing, maybe.

This is always the issue you have to watch out for with Sony. They're not one big global company. For example down here originally Sony said no second SxS card with the EX1. The dealers screamed blue murder and Sony AU relented. Now everyone down here has their second 8GB SxS card and no one in the USA has theirs :)
