Handling and encoding XVid codec in Vegas Pro 11

Hello,

I realized other similar question in forum but related to former versions.
Considering Vegas Pro 11, I am beginning a project which I intend to use a plenty of videos with XVid codec. At first Vegas couldn't read the files. I installed the codec from www.xvid.org and now Vegas is reading the file. Is it safe do deal with Xvid codec in Vegas Pro 11? Shoud I convert XVid to other format? What is the most recommended format/codec to use if conversion be necessary?

Thanks in advance,
Cadu

Questions about Xvid (and DivX) in Vegas came up a few days ago. It sounds like you've managed to get the video and audio on the timeline, but if you end up with any problems, this old thread may still be of some use:

DivX support

I'm sure you know that Xvid is just DivX spelled backwards and is roughly the same thing.
