Hard Drive recorder & vegas

A write up of a hard disk recorder that was then used with Vegas to edit, with no capture required, bit pricy though.

As an alternative to a dedicated unit, if your camera is locked down and you won't be moving around much, you can record directly to a laptop.

Done that and it works fine, but am looking for field work.
