hard drive suggestions

I have a 200GB Maxtor One Touch ext. firewire drive and two older Maxtor firewire drives, one is on its way out. All these are pretty full. I try to edit off my 2 internal fast tracked video drives (total 150 GB)

I have about 10 hours of DV footage that I want to whittle down to 90 minutes or less. I would like to capture all ten hours to a dedicated drive.

Any suggestions for this? maybe daisey chain another ext. firewire drive or maybe some sort of removable drive bay? (I don't know anything about these)

thanks,

jeff

If you don't need removable why not just slap a couple of 200GB internal drives in the computer? Are you recording to the drives on a shoot?

I have never installed an internal drive, I have 3 already, not sure if my computer has room for more, might need some help with that since I am not that inclined. Firewire drives are fairly idiot proof, but not good to edit from and a bit more pricey. 10 hours of DV is around 127GB, a 200 GB drive might be enough to preserve the 10 hours, edit down to 90 minutes all on the same drive. Probably don't need a removable drive bay, but it seems like a cool setup. (All footage is already recorded to DV tape)

The OT: Harddrive enclosure Secret. subject has got my attention.

thanks
