Lets get it together SonicFoundry... I would have soo much more gratitude in a company that would make it a serious consideration to try and get with the times as far as hardware compatibility (H/C from here on) thing goes. Hmmmm? hasn't the GL2 and XL1s been around for quite some time? Vegas 4 is cutting edge, but the H/C guys(you know who you are) are slackers!
Right now a am in the market for a new VTR. VTRs carry a hefty enough price tag(as do DV camcorders) that there should be more assurance from Software Developers rather than posts for reccommended hardware on forums. There are only 6 antiquated VTRs listed on the H/C section of the web site for Vegas that seem to be gathering dust.
If SF would be compassionte enough to ease the greatist fear of the A/V world..... SYSTEM INCOMPATIBILTY ...... It would move from a 9 straight to a 10 in my book!
If SF could aid in simplifying hardware purchasing buy testing a few more pieces of hardware(c'mon there can't be more than a score of con/pro-sumer VTRs out there)there would be no reason to even consider another A/V editor.
Great work Vegas development team
Phooey on you H/C Guys!
