Hardware Controller for Vegas

Adding the ability to use a hardware controller with Vegas (for mixing with real faders) must be a difficult task. It's the one big part of Vegas that's missing for me in this otherwise INCREDIBLE SF product. Radio and TV stations have seen their budgets slashed to the bone. Not long ago the $20,000 Orban Audicy DAW was a lightning fast choice for cranking out production. Stations that couldn't afford it went with SAW and COOL EDIT. Between these price ranges you can get an excellent starter Pro Tools system but by the time you add the hardware controller you're getting up there toward what the Audicy cost.

At a radio station you are cranking out a TON of fast production..FAST being the key. And while you can mix with a mouse it's so preferable to be able to use real faders and have the DAW software remember your volume changes as you mix. It seems to me that there is a decent market at tight budgeted radio stations for a VEGAS with the ability to hook up to real faders. And that this capability would really make it attractive to station production people who can't buy a big Pro Tools setup. A JL Cooper box or a Yamaha 01V board is cheap and can act as controllers.
I've already suggested the ability to use a hardware controller to mix with real faders and have Vegas remember the volume changes. Anyone else think this is worthwhile? I want to be clear that VEGAS is my choice, it's bloody excellent for it's ease of use and power. Adding the use of a controller must simply be a huge task or they would have already added it. Thanks in advance SF!

I've been asking for this for awhile, along with many of the audio users on this forum. The Mackie HUI is awesome for protools. In comparison to what you mentioned, Cakewalk Pro audio, Steinberg Nuendo, Steinberg Cubase, already have added external hardware control via midi controlers. This is also, how you're able to use an 01V to control the software. These other software companies are in the same range of price as Vegas. I think Sonic Foundry has decided to market Vegas towards Video features, because there is less competition in that arena. So it seems their resources are more devoted to Video features than professional audio features as of now. I'm sure us audio guys will be takin care of eventually, they haven't totally forgotten the audio aspect of Vegas.

I saw here that they where (under)develop a controller for vegas !!!! here:
http://www.radikaltechnologies.com/English/Products/SAC-2K/Compliance/compliance.html
So maybe ?? but anyway here you can read that they already giving support for acid and Vegas ! ;-)

Also for video a hardware controller such as a JLCooper MCS3800/3000/wiper etc would be a great benefit for this Great SF product...not only for audio...

In the future, you might just see what you are looking for. Why do I think this, well if you hold down the shift key when you click on prefs, you get a tab called internal. There you will see a few lines about cntrl surface.
