Has the Sales Prevention Dept. been busy?

I was finally able to listen to Cinescore samples on the designated page.

But only the first example, "Monaco Diamond excerpts", and only by switching from Firefox 1.5 to Internet Explorer.

(At least it didn't say "This page best viewed at 800x600, please adjust your monitor settings for our site"....)

I can't listen to any of the other sound samples with either Firefox or IE or Safari on any of my Win XP PCs or OS X Mac. Anybody else have the same problem?

[I couldn't help think that maybe Sony's Sales Prevention Staff were idling now, since they were no longer busy preventing users from making content for PSPs (while Apple did the opposite, leading to sales of 58.9 million iPods so far and 50-75 million visits to the iTunes store every week, per Bloomberg.com)]

So, what happens when you try? Do you get the player window, but nothing will play? Or do you not get anything at all? Or do you get a player window with a puzzle piece (which means you need a plugin)?

They seem to work okay for me in Firefox. The player windows open via javascript, and the files themselves are some Windows media format, though I'm not sure exactly which one (WMA, probably?). There's also a link marked "Changed Media Preferences," which lets you switch to Real Player format, if you want.

Help us help you by giving us more details. ;)

I get a player that immediately says Done, looks all normal, no puzzle piece, and as I said, the first example plays fine (in IE).

I didn't try Real, because I refuse to install real Real, and don't feel like installing "fake Real" right now either.

The Windows Media ones work fine here in the current Firefox.

Worked fine for me just now with several of the samples. Firefox 1.5.0.4

Hint: the samples apparently do not do the product justice. If you listen to them, you may not buy the product. I haven't purchased yet (probably will this week if I can sneak it by the wife). The software allows tweaking way beyond what the samples imply.

I'm going to go with the V7/DVD4/Cinescore upgrade group.

I had problems playing the Cinescore sample files (in Firefox). I reinstalled Media Player 10, and now everything is ok.

Maybe that's it. I'm running Media Player 10.

Media Player 10 here, too, though I seem to recall having played them on a PC using Media Player 9.

I'm running WMP10 and the update checker says I've got the latest version.

Perhaps I need to uninstall this and go find an archive of an older WM player to install to be able to listen to Sony's Sales Presentation?

I would just try to reinstall Media player 10. Maybe a registry cleaning program or something else has messed up some files / settings.
