Having trouble with uploading to Youtube...

I am trying to upload one, 20-minute, Standard HD video to you tube. It took 4 hours to upload it last night, and when that was done I got a message saying "your video is qued, but we are still processing it. And it never really got processed.

Am I trying to upload too large of a file? I am using a Toshiba laptop to do it, is this computer too slow? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this uploaded? Is there any website besides You tube I could use?

thanks

I should also maybe add that I didn't use the Vegas program to directly upload it to youtube, but just went to youtube and tried to upload it from my flashdrive.

YouTube does have a maximum length for their videos of 15 minutes. That could be part of your issue.

There is a way to increase the allowable upload link. At least according to this.

Meantime, what Render As template did you use to create your video? I'd recommend you use Render As Sony AVC with the template for Internet 1920x1080.

You haven't posted the most important details -- the properties of the file you tried to upload.
There is no such thing as "Standard HD video." It doesn't exist.

Download MediaInfo from Sourceforge and do share those details with us. Thanks.

Well it turns out the video did end up loading, I just had to verify my account with Youtube in order to upload such a large file, so that's good, but I think I can probably avoid more problems by just separating my videos into multiple parts.

"but I think I can probably avoid more problems by just separating my videos into multiple parts. "

You can probably avoid more problems just by posting the requested information, and following the advice of other users, to optimize your video for Youtube delivery.

I am aware that I did not post the information that you were wanting, but I don't have time to download that program right now, I will try and post some details later. thanks.

Steve Grisetti- I'm not sure what template I used, but I'll get back to you on that. What do you mean by "internet 1920x1080", is that the standard High Definition picture quality that the internet typically uses now?

Steve and I are asking for essentially the same information. Neither of us can advise you further without it. But if you are satisfied with your present workflow, I guess it doesn't matter . . .

When you download MediaIfo, don't install any extra toolbars.
