hc7 not recognized

Hope someone has some suggestions for me. All of a sudden Vegas Pro will not recognize my HC7 for HD capture.

If I select the internal video capture program from the preferences, video tab it will recognize it, but I only get avi captures.

If I uncheck that box as I did before it will no longer see the camera. Under the ie1394/mpeg-2ts drop down in the capture application there is nothing. Before the HC7 showed up there.

Any help would be greatly appreciate. Again, I can capture in SD mode no problem, not HD stuff.

Also, for those of you with the HC7 and Windows XP Pro, how does the HC7 show up in the device manager? Is it listed as the HC7? All I am getting is Sony DV camcorder.

Check your cam settings. You most likely have the HD-to-DV down convert on.

Thanks, I will do that.

Maybe I accidentally changed a setting. Everything was fine and then my wife wanted to record some things so I set it to Easy mode. I wonder if that mode changes any settings and then when you come out of it, that setting stays the same.
