HD Capture

I has a JVC BR-HD50 but I can't capture from it any clip m2t via firewire because vegas said: device not available.
The HD capture screen show two options: IEEE 1394/MPEG2-TS device and AJA video device with I dont have.
When I mark IEEE 1394/MPEG2-TS the screen capture still show
Device not Available.
What can I do?

Check all of the following:

1) Try using a different Firewire cable.

2) Download the freeware capture program called HDVSplit and see if you can capture with it instead. http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm

3) Try connecting the HD50 to another computer as a test and see if it is recognized using HDVSplit.

In any case, follow this sequence when connecting the camcorder. With the computer off, connect the camcorder to the Firewire cable. Boot the computer. Then turn the camcorder to "on" in playback mode. You should hear a telltale system sound indicating that a device is connected. Try to capture with Vegas or HDVSplit.
