HD fraps vids to Youtube

Hello, I'm using VMS9 Platinum & I'm trying to upload some of my gaming videos to Youtube. I'm using fraps to record at 30fps in a resolution of 1600x1080. Most of my videos are 6-8 minutes long. I want the highest quality for these videos possible which is proving difficult because the vids tend to get choppy or pixelated.

I'm currently using MainConcept MPEG2 & the quality is decent but I know it could be better. So far the best quality I've gotten is in .wmv but Youtube doesn't seem to like that format. So can someone who has experience with VMS9, fraps & uploading gaming vids could suggest which format to render in that will give me the best quality while still able to compress a 10 minute vid to under 2gb's I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Try Sony AVC MP4 at the right bitrate. For such a size, try 10 mbps.

Thanks for the reply but I tried using the Sony AVC mp4 format & Youtube didn't recognize it unfortunately. I know Youtube will take a MainConcept MP4 but in VMS9 the only resolution options are for 320 & 640 which isn't HD. Is there maybe a plugin I can install that will up the resolution options? If not could anyone recommend a free converter to make my .wmv files into something that works well with Youtube like .flv or mp4(mainconcept)?

Try recording at 720p instead. I've heard that YT, while it accepts 1080, reduces the quality of 1080 to something that's a bit *lower* than 720, but leaves 720 alone.

This is not accurate, Youtube supports SonyAVC's version of MP4 just fine, I've tried it many times in the past. Use my tutorial as found on my blog.
