I am currently rendering a computer animation that will be viewed via dvd player on a plasma tv with pixel dimensions of 1366x720. I am rendering my frames at 864x480, and I know that the animation will be scaled up to fit the tv's resolution. Am I correct in presuming that if I wanted to render at the tv's hd dimension, the dvd player would need to be hd-dvd or blu-ray in order to get the larger hd dimensions. In other words, is the dvd player is the bottleneck that determines the final dimensions, or can I render at 1080i dimension, burn to dvd, and get it to play at full 1080i (if it were to be viewed on a 1080i tv)?
TIA.
