err..
BD and BluRay offer teh same formats.. the differnce in quality isnt the codec or media.. its teh DA converters used witihn each player as well as the image processors.

Theoretically the only differences should be bitrates and media... if you had a HD DVD and BD disc with teh SAME content.. they SHODL theoretcially look the same..

I thought id mention that to save confusion
From what i understand. the only thing vegas supports (for HD DVD AND BD) is WMV9 HD with 5.1 professional profile. Theres the MP4 codecs, but these are only stereo, so mp4 with 5.1 will need to be authoried.... which i believe ulead have HD DVD Authoring in their catalogue.. not too sure.. cant be fuggeed looking..

M2t is another compatible one, but agian, its another one.. but again, this is restricted to stereo and mpg audio... ac3 might be in the works, IF they release a BD-HD DVD authoring app... again, i think ulead have this one already in the lines...

Umm what else..
i think thats pretty much it..

wmv9
mp4
and mp2

more than likely mp2 will be the dominant one until mp4 kicks into the consumer heads..
