HDR settings for GoPro H12 source material?

I have been accumulating GoPro Hero12's to use in creating 3D Gaussian Splat models (3DGS) and 4DGS animated models.

I am contemplating using HDR to improve the quality but am a complete HDR noob. Can anyone recommend HDR settings for Vegas 22, or 23 if necessary, for editing the GoPro HDR footage? Bonus points if you can give me a clue for using HDR footage in FFMPEG.

I did a quick search for "HDR" in the forum and it appears there may be a sensitive subject.

Oh, and I did have a quick look in the V22 manual...

With Vegas Pro 23, the HDR preview seems to be inactive at the moment. So, for this purpose stick with VP22.

Settings are quite simple: go into the project properties and choose in the HDR Mode HDR10. This will bring you into the HDR settings (32-bit floating point full range, gamma 1, ACES version 1.2 (for VP22). Test ACEScc if it does not work for Default ACES. And view transform should be rec.2020 ST2080 1000 nits (ACES)).

I am not quite sure what you should use for the media properties. Typically, you set there the color space to the footage you use, but GoPro footage is not listed here. Maybe test rec2020, but I do not know if that will work.
