HDV Audio Drop but Video OK...Impossible??

When i capture HDV in sony vegas, the audio will cut out. I would recapture and the audio drops in the same spot with same results. I will end up, in this case, with 2 files, even with scene detection off. I did a test with HDsplit, when the audio cuts out (same location as V9) the video remains. I end up with one clip but audio is missing at the very spot the audio cuts out, in this case a minute before the end. When i line up the result from V9 and HDsplit on the time line, the break in audio from HDsplit matches exactly where V9 cut out and the second clip begins (1/2 sec blank spot between two clips)

I turn off preview, shut all programs down, set capture program to high or real time priority. Duo Core 2.53, 4 gig ram, 32 bit vista, 3-sata drives-program on one.

If an I frame is dropping out, why is the video intact (HDsplit). The first few attempts at transfer I would preview audio and as soon as i heard a crackle or pop or cutout, a new clip would be created. Always in the same spot(s) !

Our children's ministry is using 3-new FX7s, and i have a canon HV10 that i use as a VCR. I have a Sony M15-U coming soon, but I don't think this will fix the problem since the drops happen in the same spot and not random.

If one tape drops 20 minutes into capture, then every time it will fail at the same spot. Second camera drops 5 seconds into capture, 22 minutes later another then 3 short cut outs again 35 minutes later. Then every attempt to capture will result in the exact same results as previous.

HELP?? I thought this is impossible.
