HDV from Vegas to disk to HDDVD player?

Question, Can I edit a HDV project in Vegas Movie Studio P and then burn it to a disk to play through a HDDVD player on my HDV Sony 42inch, using regular dvd disks? IF so where can I find out how to do that? And why is it so darn hard to switch to High Def? That last question was me grumbling, sorry. Roger
PS I know I may have to use something other then Architect to burn with but don't know what to use.

No, you can't use Vegas to do that job. Vegas Pro 8 can do that for Blu-Ray filesystems on DVD disks, but not for HD-DVD. I have blogged about the situation here and I mention the 3 ways you can currently do it:

Thank you so much for your help and also the info on your blog. I just now came back from Best Buy and saw option three using Pinnacle Studio 11. The price was about $130. However I would then have to edit with that and I want to stay with Vegas or Premiere. "darn"
I will keep looking. Roger :o)

This might actually be possible if you export in .m2t, or in h.264 HD using my tutorial in my blog. You do your editing with Vegas, you export as such, and then you load Pinnacle. Unfortunately, Pinnacle does not offer a demo, so you can't know for sure.

Finally, a freeware way to burn HD video on plain DVD discs:

Works with Toshiba's HD-DVDs, VLC and MediaPlayerClassic on the PC side, but not with Blu-Rays.
