HDV output Preset without HDV cam

I have a friend who was renting a HDV cam and captured all of his footage and wants to go back out to HDV cam but it isnt available until next week. He asked if there was a way to output timeline to HDV so when he does the cam back, that he doesnt have to sit and render before it goes out to cam again. I know what he is talking about since DV was the same way. Vegas would render the file where it was needed before it would output to tape. All I would do is render it and then when I was ready to go back to the cam, I dropped the rendered file on timeline and went to tape without needing to render.

I guess he wants the HDV m2t file. What should I tell him?

Render it out to m2t and then it's ready to PTT.

What Im asking is if there is a preset for this?

Use any of the hdv renders and the file comes out m2t.

Ok but isnt there one that has the bitrate that is recorded by the camera (I believe 19MB/s).

That should be easy enough to create, set the bitrate in the system section to 19 megs and save as preset. And set in whatever else the camera puts out.

If you set the bitrate to 19Mbps and it's a Sony cam, it won't PTT, he'll have a re-render. Use the HDV 1080 60i template for a Z1U/FX1/A1U/HC1, and you'll be fine. It's clearly marked in the Render As/MPEG options.

Yes, and best success is to not touch any of the presets for the HDV settings.
