Download the "HD-WMV" test files from Microsoft then unzip the 720P
versions and put them on the Vegas timeline. set the Render to mpeg2, 720-30P and then in the custom menu set the bitrate to 15meg
Constant, then in the audio set the bitrate to 384, then in the system menu set to "transport stream" and uncheck the "auto calculate" and set the manual to 19.4 megs. Save the preset and make sure it stays
at 19.4 megs. Render the files and then change the file endings to m2t.
Select them in the export menu of "Connect HD" Cineform software and export them to D-VHS tape. Play the tape on the set top tv or projection and you will crap your pants at the quality. Its as good as Monday Night Football or the Grammy awards. I did detect a very tiny amount of "judder" on fast pans but it wasn't that bad. I'm just blown away.
