Hi, folks --
I'm using a Canon HV30 and taping HDV (60i). I need to produce a master for replication via Vegas Pro 8 and DVDA 5.
Testing on my LCD HDTV and two SD CRT TVs with built in DVD players has suggested that the best results are via
Project properties----
Field order: upper field first, deinterlace: interpolate
Render settings ----
DVD Artchitect NTSC Widescreen widescreen video stream with custom >> field order set to none (progressive scan).
(Note: setting the field order to upper field first when rendering produced fairly good results, but showed some jaggies when subjects moved.)
Questions:
1. Will these settings produce a product that works well on all (or almost all) TVs/players?
2. Is the output actually progressive? (When loading into DVDA, the project properties indicate, "progressive: no.")
3. If it is progressive, do most TVs and/or DVD players handle progressive OK?
(This is related to the previous two questions, of course.)
4. Are there any better project property/rendering settings to use? (I prefer to stay in Vegas Pro/DVDA, if possible.)
Many thanks for your help!
George
