Help. All layers are blank

Once again, my fat fingers have pushed a button I shouldn't have and now all of my media layers are blank. The media is still there and shows up properly in the preview screen but the timeline is just abunch of white squares. What the heck did I do and how do I fix it?

Whatever I did is a universal issue that even effects Vegas projects I created a month ago. A project that was fine before now shows up as just white boxes on the Timeline. I must have hit some sort of setting but I have no idea what it was or how to fix it.

OK. I still don't know what I did but I managed to return to the default setings and get it back to normal. If anyone happens to know what I did wrong, please let me know so I don't do it again.
