Chris021 wrote on 12/17/2025, 5:27 AM

Hi,
I've got a firmware update today and now I can't render anymore !
Error message : "An error occurred while creating the media file xxxxx.mp4 - A component failed to initialize."

I've tried to download again Vegas 23 (356) from my account and install again, same issue.

What can I do ? I've an important and urgent render to make.

After opening Vegas Pro 23, I see that there is indeed an update to build 356.

Two things:

  • which render template are you using; and
  • from your Signature, your NVIDIA GPU driver is around 16 months old - try updating to the latest NVIDA Studio driver (though NEVC problems caused by 591.44 - apparently with any VP23 version).

For VP 23 it won't work with older NVIDIA drivers (probably due to an SDK update) but should work with one that's 570.XX or newer. See if that helps.

Alternatively do non-NV Encoding render formats work? MagixAVC with Mainconcept, QSV, or ProRes?

If you need to go back to an older version they are all here. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/
