Help Creating Text

I want to create a thirty second intro to a video, but have some problems.
This is what I need...

... I do not want a credit roll, a fade in/out, but a text over video where a section fades in and stays for the full duration. Below the initial section (paragraph) a second fades in and so-forth.

Do I have to create key frames for my text to come into view, one layer at a time ?

I can do it in Camtasia, but I am trying ween myself off.

Take Care,

Keyframes aren't needed.

Create a text event with the full text (all paragraphs). Then copy/paste it so you have multiple versions of it on the timeline, enough for each paragraph. When pasting, keep the Create new copy option.

Then go the the first text event and delete all but the first paragraph. Go to the second and delete all but the first and second paragraph. Drag the second event to the right to overlap it with the first for as long as you want the fade in. Repeat for each successive event until the last event with the full text.

This works (I do it all the time) but it is important to LEAVE ALL THE LINE FEEDS when you delete the text. If you leave all the line feeds Vegas will keep everything lined up from one text box to the next. If you don't Vegas will center whatever is left in the box .. which will be different from the previous box. See:
