Help Diagnose this error?

Can anyone please tell me what this error code means? Does it have to do with transitions?
Thank you

It may. But what is happening when this occurs? What kind of media, transitions, overlays, plugins, background apps?
runlong4 wrote on 1/31/2004, 12:09 PM
I have a timeline with jpegs in it each 6 seconds long with various effects. The project is 23 minutes long and it will render the first 17:23:00, and then this error. The clip it stops on is 6 second jpeg with blur effect (linear) it dissolves into backround and there is also andunderlay of vegas generated media with noise texture. I have tried to split this part of the video off and render in a new instance of vegas but I get the same thing. I am stumped.

Thanks for responding.

Can you render that jpeg alone? with the effects or without the effects?
Maybe the jpeg have a problem? what is the size of the jpeg - someone had a similar problem with HUGE jpeg file.

Hope it helps, Udi

The jpeg is the same file size as the rest in the timeline 1158 x something or other. (Can't look right now) I have taken the suspect jpeg off the timeline and loaded a black clip in it's place I am attempting the render right now. Will update.

Thank you

It sounds like a memory overload.
When you open and decompress a jpeg to full resolution inside Vegas it will be around 5 times larger.
You don't need a really high resolution for use in Vegas. Reduce them and try again.

Thanks all. I never figured out the error. I ended up taking out 2 jpegs and replacing them without the border effect and who-la', the file rendered.

I've used 3000x3000 @ 300dpi with no probs I have 1gig memory though.

Two things:
PNG seems to be handled best by Vegas.
If you don't need the res loose it.

I had major grief with HUGE tiffs, converting to png and halving the res made life so much easier.

I've also had major grief with HUGE........................................Oh? ...."Tiffs".......

Sorry, Got to get new contact lenses.

Did you have other effects than the border, velocity envelope, pan/crop or track motion? I had a similar problem when I used border, velocity and "resize".

I had a similar episode once. A still with border, PIP over animated background, panned and cropped. Once I opened up my timeline and viewed individual frames I found one frame where the media was blank, same border, same everything, except the still was missing. My render would hang at that frame everytime. Found a second instance several minutes later after removing and recreating the first image (contaminated?). Render would stop there every time as well. Sent a veggie into SoFo at their request, but they couldn't mimic the hangup. DGrob

I had that same problem using jpg, doing a slideshow with pans.
The problem was at a transition when both jpgs had the border blur effect. I removed one pictures effect and then it rendered just fine. Hope this helps.

Had the same problem. The offending subject was a text media that had the blur effect. I think the blur effect has some kind of bug in it. For some reason, it happens on some clips and not others. Try removing the offending clip. Bring it in again. Apply the same effects to it again. Render just that portion again before rendering the whole timeline (just as a check). I did this and the problem went away. I'm not sure if the problem occurs when you copy attributes from one clip to another. That is the only conclusion I can come to.
