Help! - Did I hit a wrong button?

Was working merrily along combining media generators, plug-ins, pan/crop and track motion when suddenly I found that clicking on the media generator and plug-in icons, regardless of where they are located, produced only a small object that shot off the screen to the right and the working windows would not open. At the moment I have no access to the media generator or plug-in windows. Tried opening them from the drop-down menus - no luck. Opened several other files - same problem, so it appears to be Vegas 4.0 and not the veg files. The pan/crop and track motion features work fine. Could I have inadvertently changed something or is this a sign of a deeper seated problem. Have been using Vegas 4.0 since it was released with no problems until now. OS = Win 98SE. Any ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Grizzly Ike

Hold Shift while selecting Options/Preferences then choose the Internal tab. The first option is to reset settings on startup. You might try setting that to true to see if your windows are restored to visible positions. You'll have to reset preferences you'd customized.

Try the following AFTER opening the generated media window.

Press ALT
Press Space Bar
Press Down Arrow (ONCE)
Press ENTER

Now, you can use the arrow keys to MOVE that window. Maybe you can move it back onto the screen.

Thanks Guys. Was working with your suggestions and a docking handle suddenly appeared at the right edge of the docking area. It appears both windows, for unknown reasons (to me), docked themselves way out in right field. Dragging one back brought them both home. Everything is now fine.
Thanks again,
