help fitting mpeg onto a disc

I have captured a tv show from a tv card and the size is about 6.5 gb?
Does anyone know how to spit it into 4.7 g and the remainder onto another dvd? what software and do i have to render it for a long time?

Rick: Take a look at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/calc.htm The bitrate calculator will enable you to determine what compression to use to fit your material onto a single DVD.

You don't say what DVD program you're using. In DVD Workshop, a file the length of yours will burn onto a DVD if captured and burned using the VBR setting, without any further compression.

Also to save you the hassle you're looking at about 4.37GB per DVD not 4.7.
