Help! Got a new DVD burner, can't play MPEGs now...

I just got a new DVD burner installed on my computer. But now I
can't play MPEG-1 video files in WMP, Real One, AND Sonic Foundy.
They will play in QT though. It says a "dll" type file is missing.
I did have a new 80 GB hard drive and more memory installed. Maybe
it's a configuration problem? I've tried uninstalling the new DVD
software but still no luck. Anyone have any ideas or suggestion?!
Thanks!

Is it QT that says the dll is missing? When I first read this I thought QT was OK but the other s/w produced the error message - now I'm not sure.

Does the error message say which dll is missing, and where it's looking for it? If so, do a search for the missing file name and, if you find it, place a copy in the correct location.

If it tells you which file's missing and you've got a copy but don't know where to put it, try dragging a copy in Explorer onto VF (or QT?). With a bit of luck VF will register the dll for you.

If the dll isn't on your system you can probably download one from the web, but make sure it's for the right OS.

If all else fails I'd try reinstalling Media Player.

Good luck!
