HELP. How do I choose a codec in Video Capture Version 2.0e?

Just downloaded VidCap Version 2.0e and tried to capture from an analog source and the resulting file was not the best. I cannot find the preferences which adjust the capture codec...I have Huffy 2.1 and want to use it as the my capture codec.

I hope Sonic allows this (very disappointed if they do not allow user to choose which codec to capture with).

You can use any DirectShow compatible codec- go to the "Video" tabe at the top of Video Capture and adjust the capture properties as needed.

Yes, I looked under the video tab and selected my video driver (Brooktree PCI capture driver properties), and under VIDEO FORMAT I can choose the size of the capture BUT (and this is the biggie)under IMAGE FORMAT it only lists 24bitRGB, YUY2, YUV9 and RAW DATE. No where can I select Huffy 2.1 codec or Pegasus MJPEG additional codecs. These codecs are selectable in my Vegas Video editing software as a rendering choice (so it proves that a sonic program CAN recognize them) but I cannot choose them in VidCapture 2.0e.

so now what do I try?
