HELP - Low Memory Warning

My project is giving me an error message during rendering that the memory is low so the render had to abort. This would be understandable if I didn't have a gig of ram. This is the first project that this has ever happened with, and is confusing me to no end. Any ideas? My only thought is that maybe it's because the pictures i'm using are PSD files, but then again, it did this about 3 min into the render.

Vegas has to open each of the image files and keep them in memory as it renders. Depending on the size of your PSD files, it could easily eat up a gig of RAM. Render your video in sections and stitch them together after the fact. This is a lossless operation.

I use PSDs in my projects pretty often. I scan in photographs at 300-600 dpi. I have a gig of ram and can usually render 30 PSDs at that resolution without any problem but I just ran out of memory doing a project with PSDs about a week ago. So I tried network rendering the project and the project completed without running out of memory.
