I previously had the free trial of Sony Vegas Platinum Pro 9.0, but my trial has ended. I bought it in the box at Best Buy, but I can't register it. When I click on it, it only gives me two options- Buy Now or Close. I tried going into the program files and going to application registration, but for some reason it won't open. I tried uninstalling it and re-installing it, but it still opened up as your trial has ended. I dont want to pay $115 bucks for nothing! I dont know my Machine ID or anything because I can't even open it!! Please help!

Perhaps if you click on "Buy Now" one of the options you will be given is to enter the serial number you got in the boxed version. If that comes up you'll be able to enter it and register the new serial number ... without spending any more money.

I'm having the same problem, and nothing I do seems to fix it! I bought it online after the trial ended and also paid extra to have the CD sent to me, too. It won't let me register or access anything but the window that says you're trial has expired, buy now, blah blah. Even though I already bought it using the exact same link, it just brings me back to the same steps and there's no place to put a product key.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, both with the download and now the CD. I've also tried a clean install. Nothing I do seems to work and I'm getting very frustrated!

You may have to uninstall the trial version then install the product in the box, but it looks like you've already done that.

I also found it hard until I ended up finding the answer looking through alot of forums.

Run Vegas Movie Studio. Then choose register by phone and not by internet and this was how I as able to enter your product key.
