Help!! Moviestudio Slideshows/Sonic MyDvd??

Hi...
I just purchased & installed Movie Studio to create slideshows/photo montages. I am starting out with still photos and want to learn to add video clips later on. I am having a real difficult time learning this software....I thought for a slideshow with transitions, effects and music would be fairly user friendly. In the instructions on how to create a slideshow they talk about Sonic MyDvd to create it in there.

Does anyone know where I access this Sonic MyDvd and does anyone have any suggestions on how to simply create a slideshow with the transitions, etc.? Is it not as simple as dragging a transition between each photo? Do you have to overlap each photo in the slideshow??

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

It is possible to right click on the right edge of one of a photo an select add transition to the photo.

My preference for creating slideshows is to create a wmv file through microsoft's photo story 3 (free download) and the bring this into VMS to add the sound ,insert video clips, and generate the dvd(in Architect). All of the effects can be done in VMS with more time and effort(altough more control)

Sonic MyDVD? Is this Movie Studio 3? That's an old version. You might want to consider upgrading to version 6 with DVD Architect.

Thanks....
I do have the 6.0 platinum edition and architect 3.0, however in the help guide for creating slideshows it talks about this "mydvd" and I was not seeing that anywhere.

Do I create my photo slideshow with transitions, etc. in architect or movie studio or either one?

Thanks in advance for any help!

you can create slide shows in either one. its pretty basic in Architect Studio - plop your slides in and add sound if you want. In Vegas Movie Studio you can do a lot more if you wish - fancy transitions - Ken Burns style - just about anything that makes you happy - oh and you can add music as well

if you wanna get real creative use VMS

have fun!

MyDVD was a DVD authoring app packaged with earlier versions of VMS. It was replaced by DVD Architect a while back, much to everyone's relief! It looks the help needs to be updated.

I really like Photodex ProShow Gold for slideshows. The quality is excellent as is ease of use. If you want to create slideshows to place in VMS ProShow will let you export in about thirtyteen formats.
