regards regards . seems like i've found a new home

back again with 2 more simple questions for those vegas pros out there .

thanks in advance for y'all patience

.
.

I'm attempting to get into the VEGAS application by taking music video clips and chopping them

in time with the music.

as such, it's important to be able to get precise selection when cutting the movie+audio .

HOW can i change the sensetivity of the selection tool, i noticed that i could set up the grid

to milliseconds or frames, but snapping to grid - just seems to make things more difficult.

what might i do to precisely move the selection box, do any key commands work?

. . . . . . . . .

QUESTION 2wo .

so, in the cutting and pasting of a video i noticed when i split the layer into let's say 2 clips,

when i went to reposition the clip endpoints i could zoom in and see a FADE bezeir curve.

AT FIRST i was able to drag the INPOINT of one clip into the OUTPOINT of the other clip

and the BEZIER FADE would automatically adjust; thus fading in the audio+video measured

to the overlap.

now when i try to do this . the clips simply layer ontop of eachother . and manual control is

a bit difficult to manage on both audio+video.

SO . HOW can i control this feature so that i might toggle it into AUTOmatic . or MANual ? ? ?

If you play the timeline you can hit "M" everytime you want a marker, either on the beat, off the beat or ... up to you If you don't quite get one right, you can shift it till it it's perfect.

Sorry - I didn't understand the second question.

Zooming in on the timeline (e.g., via the scroll wheel) will help with more precise time selections. For your other question, it sounds like you need to enable ‘Automatic Crossfades’ (toolbar icon with two triangles), if I understand the issue.

Question 1: Either zoom in on the timeline or hold down the ALT key when using the arrows.

Question 2: I'm assuming you mean the quick 1 ms fade when you split audio events. Turn OFF Options - Quickfade Audio Edits.
