Help: Used Morgan codec for MJPEG but video black?

Normally use vids from Casio V7 or Sony camcorder which play right away in VMS Plat 6.0. A year ago I used some clips from a friend's Canon 630 and thought I used the Morgan Codec to get them to play in VMS timeline for editing.

Now have a similar situation but my Morgan trial expired so bought their MJPEG v3 codec for $20. Got it registered fine but when I load the Canon clips, I now get the video portion (previous was only audio) but it is black so still only have sound.

Don't recall this isuue from a year ago but can't remember what I did differently. Anybody have the answer to this?

Much appreciated.

Try the freeware matrox mjpeg codec instead, should be easy to find via google.

Alternatively, upgrade to vms8 which has good support for mov and avi mjpeg.

Thanks... worried about V8 since I bought the full Vegas Pro 8 (upgrade) and it keeps crashing so went back to VMS6 until they fix it.

Anyhow, your post prompted me to search and found some other freebie that works. It does batch converts:

MP4Cam2AVI - MPEG4/MJPEG to .AVI converter/joiner for digital cameras

But, the best news... the Morgan codec started working after I reopened the project so maybe something about the settings taking effect?

Anyhow... seems like multiple solutions for others with this issue!
