Help--Vegas closes project

i am working on a project in vegas pro 8. it involves jpeg and mpeg2 files. my project size is 430kb. when i am working the automatic save starts saving it self, which is no big deal, then after it is done autosaving. a message pops up saying fatal error and closes my program. does anybody know why. sometimes it will not even post the fatal error message, it just shuts the program down in a second.

Have you tried any of the suggestions you've been offered in the other threads where you posted this problem?

do you use Vitascene and also have Pinnacle loaded?

Try deleting Pinnacle I had a similar issue

I was not aware of Vegas having an automatic save feature? Maybe it does and I don't know about it. I do know you add such a feature in an extension that someone on this forum wrote. Did you add this extension?

Start a brand new project in Vegas. Add a single piece of media, like a jpg file.
Save the project to a file name. Close it. Re-open it. Add another piece of media,
like another jpg file. Does Vegas do an Autosave on that? Does Vegas crash?

It automatically makes a backup file. Has done so forever. It's pretty invisible.

What it doesn't do is increment the backup saves, and that's one of the things your script does.
