Help with adding timers to videos...

I have what you would call a basic grasp on Movie Studio, and I'm starting to learn more about how it works. But the Timecode FX confuses me. Unless it's because I have the most basic version, I can only change the timecode's location, and even then it's very limited. I can't change its font, colour or background (because that black box thing can be very distracting at times)

Is there any way to change these in Movie Studio HD. or is that something reserved for one of the more expensive versions?

Even the $700 Pro version has the same limitations.

You can get rid of the background or change it's color by adding various effects. If your version has compositing modes you could set it to "lighten", and then the black background would become invisible.

The timecode FX is designed to simulate the Timecode that is generated by a professional videotape player. It is not really designed as a timer.
