For now you should go with an AMD card. I use an ASUS Radeon Fury X with an EK water block. I recently installed a GTX580 (the last and fastest Nvidia card Vegas will utilize) in addition to my Fury X to have the MC AVC GPU acceleration back. For my next big project I need very fast renders that can be uploaded to YT without any issue, MC AVC with CUDA does just that.

Proud owner of Sony Vegas Pro 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 and now Magix VP15&16.
