Help with displacement mapping

Does any one know of a tutorial or what I need to do in order to make the effect of text dispacement say like over water. I remember awhile back I learned how to do it in V4. I think it was on LuciferJones's site but that tecnique does not work with the new parent child set up.
the effect I'm trying to create is the text floating on the waters surface.

Edit\ I found the V4 tutorial here

Make your text track a child of the video used for displacement. On the displacement track, change the compositing mode to Custom.
Then you can choose from Bump, Displacement, or Height.

Thank's Gary I have done that, but the then the text is displaced properly , but it remains white. If I check the flip input surface box, the text now becomes the color of the displaced track one but is now no longer "displaced" according to the pixels,if you know what I mean.

I think I may have found what I need to do , looks like you must also change the Parent composite mode of the top/displaced track to custom-displacement also. but dont check the flip input surfaces box in this one.
