Help with Divx codec

When trying to render as Divx the encoding stops about 2-3 seconds after starting stating that the codec could not be found...
I use Divx 5.1.1 outside vegas with no problems, and it is listed in the dropdown menu on the custom avi options tab.
How can I make Vegas recognize the installed codec?

Just a guess here.... did you install Divx first, or Vegas? Seems to me some folks had problems if they installed these 2 in a different order. Perhaps a search of this forum might reveal some more clues.

I've never had a problem rendering to DivX in Vegas 2, 3, or 4.

Thanks. I installed vegas first and the divx. I did a search and found something about ffdshow which I have configure as mentioned, but still is not working, and also divx files when drag to the timeline the video is black although I can listen to the audio
