I am trying to record from 2 DA-88's through MOTU2408 (via
TDIF cables)and into VegasPro, without luck. I want to
record all tracks into VegasPro, edit them there and then
fly them back to new DA-88 tracks, so sync problems should
not be a matter to contend with or would it? I believe
several of you have DA-88's and can offer assistance. I
remember reading several months back about DA-88 woes with
MOTU2408's but did not find anything regarding the actual
setup...In the PCI324, banks A and B are set to DA88 with
all 8 (mono mode) inputs checked, all outputs show "from
computer", and monitor from analog 1&2. In Vegas, routing
shows monitor through analog 1&2, and Bus A is DA881-2, Bus
B is DA-88 3-4, and so on... through to 16 tracks (8 Buses).
After arming each track in Vegas and pressing record button
as I press play on the DA-88s: I first got infrequent
signals within Vegas, meaning the record meters spiked from
silence to clipping...and quit only to repeat several more
times till I stopped the process. I figured I would lower
the volume on each track but that did not help as I got the
same results again. I do have a BNC wire from the master DA-
88 deck "Word Out" to the 2408 "Word In". Also, the master
DA-88 is equipped with an SY-88 card, but I am not using it
in any special way. The Pci 324 clock is set to "Internal",
any suggestions as to how I can set this up to record into
Vegas from thwe DA-88's? Then record out from Vegas to each
DA-88 track again? Please be specific in your suggestions
as I am getting frustrated with it not working and need
some pointers. Thanks!MM.
