mp4 is a container for multiple types of formats. Have you read through other threads similar to the problems you experience? i.e Search.... choppy preview.

There are many threads discussing your issue. After reading though them and if you still have a specific question, ask away.

ADDED: Speaking of Search, I just did one and came up your other thread. Why not continue the discussion there?

But I will throw you a bone: Eugenia's Sony Vegas Hints and Tips. Read the preview section.

To be honest I had forgotten I posted it here. I have used at least 3 different editing programs trying to get one to work with this file and have had so many suggestions that have not worked I lost track of which one I was working with. Thanks Ill try your suggestion.

"I have used at least 3 different editing programs trying to get one to work with this file"

Then why don't you post the file properties, project properties, and / or upload a native clip somewhere and let us look at it?

"MP4" says nothing.

A very good suggestion. Right click on the file in the timeline and choose Properties. A good program is MediaInfo, use text mode and post results.

Sorry I should have done that. It is Sony AVC 1280X960X12 29.970 fps. I wasn't aware of the icon in Vegas that allowed you to Match Media Settings after choosing that option it appears to be working. Im fixing to render it and open in Architect, hopefully all will go well. Thanks.

1280X960 is not HD. 1280x720 is, make sure you have your resolutions right.
