I realilze that Real audio files are unusable in Vegas 4.0. I would like to know if there is anyway whatsoever to put Real audio files on the timeline through any other applications. In other words, are there programs out there that could "convert" Real audio into some other recognizable format so I could use them in Vegas? Any help is appreciated! Thnx!

What i've done is to play them in RealPlayer and record the output in real time in Vegas or Sound Forge. Your sound card may have a mixing option to record "Speaker Output", "Mixed Output", "What U Hear", or something like that. With this setting, Vegas will record whatever RealPlayer is playing.

Thanks Chienworks! I've looked everywhere on my computer, and I can't seem to find a mixing option on it. Where specifically do I look to find it? Can you tell me where to find those options that you talk about? FWIW, I have a new Dell laptop computer.

Double Click the Speaker icon bottom right task bar.

(If it's not there, Ctrl Panel / Sounds & Audio Devices ...)

Options / Properties / Recording ... click OK

There's your mixer
