I am working on a still slideshow project but to add some interestI thought about putting a few shots of video of things that dont usually stay still, like running water, windmills, waving wheat etc. I have a pretty good digital camera for the stills but today I tried to use its video functions to see if they would work for the motion stuff. I thought I would try this before renting or buying a camera and if I could get by, great.
I have the FUJI 602Z which can do 640x480 30 fps video with mono sound. I have never used a video cam before so I have nothing to compare it against, but I notice a couple things:
1. there is no video stabilizer in the camera. I used a tripod but it was windy so I can see just ever so slight jitter.
2. the video is a little big jagged on the edges. i wouldnt call it pixelated but its lacking some smoothness.
3. colors are definately washed out and need correction.
4. resolution less than DVD spec so need to upsized.
Can anybody give me some editing/FX tips on how I can bring this to some sort of acceptable quality if at all possible. Any sugegstions would be greatly appreciated.
