Hidden Buttons in Menu

I will do my best to discribe what i am trying to do.

I have created an intro for my DVD that plays upon placing the disc in the player. What i would like to have happen is for about 30 seconds of video to play before the 2 main buttons i have avaiable show up to access.

What i have done to this point, is insert my media, made my buttons text only and then deleted any test thus making them invisiable once i choose a custom highlight.

The media i inserted was created with text that appears near the end of the 30seconds that matches where my invisable buttons are creating what looks like a button that suddenly appears and can be selected.

My problem is, that once the text shows up to show where the buttons are, there is no way of knowing which is selected because the highlight is transparent. If i choose any other type of highlight, then i have it showing when my opening video plays. I guess i could just make my video a first play then have it jump to a menu with the buttons but i was hopeing someone new of a way you can delay the highlight for the buttons untill you want them to show up.

Any ideas would be great .

Hope that all made sense.

I don't fully understand, but the usual approach to this sort of thing is to make two identical menus, one with buttons that don't have highlights, and the other with buttons that do. Then have the first menu link to the second, either when you click, or after a pre-determined delay.

yeah, i guess i did not say it all very clearly. None the less, your suggestion is the direction i am going so it just confirms my decision.

Thanks

go to the DVDA 3 help file. Select the Index tab and type the word "delaying" - select the topic "Delaying Button Display for a Menu" and see if that's what you are trying to do.

ScottW is on the right path.
Delayed highlighting by setting the LOOP POINT
is how you get the highlights and buttons enabled.
Create your menu video without buttons at the start
and fade in (or other fancy method) the background
with your buttons.
