Got a question for all you!

Is there a plug in or something that i can use to go along with VF 2.0c, that will allow me to tone down my wife's loud luagh as she was holding the Sony DCR VX2000, without cutting her out completely? i attempted to normalize the sound track but then it seems to me the other back ground voices get left out. i tried opening the sound track to the audio editor... but ti says there is none? can i get one from sonicfoundry? is it worth my time?
