I am making sports highlight films for college prospects. In Vegas 8.0 is there a way to highlight a player on the screen, if only for a moment, to make him more visable to the scouts looking at the film?
Track 1: Solid black generated media then lower the opacity so you can see darkened activity.
Track 2: Your video
On the generated media, add a Cookie Cutter and adjust to show just the area you want highlighted to be bright. You may need multiple keyframes if the area to highlight moves.
You set keyframes. Slightly tedious process. You move the spot and click to denote a keyframe, move/click, and so on. The timeline is seen at the bottom of the generated media window when you open the media "colour gradient: elliptical transparent to black" . The process is tedious because you cannot directly link the keyframe line to the timeline, and have to determine the time for each keyframe and click at that point. But it's not too bad once you get into the hang of the process. Then when you play the video the spot will move as commanded.
