Hiss Reduction in VP13

I have a hiss issue on some files of quiet sounds which I need to amplify (due to a fig 8 mic as part of an MS stereo rig which has a high self noise). I have been using the noise reduction feature in Audacity (off the timeline in VP13) which works quite well by giving it a sample of the hiss etc etc. My question is, is there an audio fx within VP13 that does the same thing which would save me having to create new post Audacity files every time.

Also there seems to be a bug such that when I export the treated file from Audacity, it appears to replace the event on the timeline (...... take 2) but when I play the timeline it plays the original event. I have to delete the original event and replace it with the new one from the All Media bin. Am I missing something here?

Bye the way I only upgraded from Movie Studio a couple months ago, wow Vegas Pro is amazing for the money. Just discovered sync link, it's perfect for the sort of work I do making late edits to the video line so much easier.

Thanks in advance.

Sony's own Noise Reduction plugin is pretty amazing for things like hiss too. It can almost completely eliminate it with some time and care. If you have installed any version of Sound Forge Pro 6 or later you should already have it. If you've installed the studio version then a limited version of Noise Reduction should be available under the 'vinyl restoration tools', and what is included there is more than sufficient for handling hiss.
