Can't reproduce here (10e x64 Win7). Although it is a simple test project.

Just tried again, froze Vegas. Maybe it's my project.
Someone else could test my file: http://www.sterlingshield.net/home/steve/vegassite/2011 teddy bear picnic.veg

I've been modifying the large credit roles @ the end. Just ignore all the missing media.

Frozen !

One interesting observation: if I disable 2D shadow in track motion fx of track #2 Vegas doesn't freeze anymore when I play with scrolling text length.

It looks like you've got to report this to SCS.

Still freezes for me even with 2d track shadow off but I submitted a report to Sony with a copy of the file & a link to this thread.

What I did was to remove the first keyframe (the one in hold mode) and drag the second one at the beginning of the FX TL and reset track motion / shadow to defaults.

This being done, I can stretch or expand the scrolling text on track #2 and then click on the match event length button without any freeze.

I tried to isolate the problem using an empty project with a track similar to your #2. Even with track motion I got no freezes...
