I recently came upon a Dazzle Hollywood DV-Bridge and have been trying to get it to work with Vegas. Has anybody had any luck, or even experience with this box? System is XP/2 loads of memeory and disc.
Yeah,
I've had a lot of experience with this box. Basically a piece of junk, I was able to briefly get it to work, first bit of video with off sync or blank tape and the audio went into DalekSpeak mode and next glitch and it went further downhill.
It's too light to use as a door stop so I don't know what to recommend you do with it. Seems those who made it are long gone.
If you've got the time you might get something useful through it. You need to try lots of combinations of I/O and pushing buttons etc.
Bob.
Waste of time and money. Makes me sick to think i didn't take that goofy thing back to comp usa. It took days to get to work the first time. The stars had to be in perfect alignment. On longer captures the audio would be way out of sync. needless to say I gave up on it.
Depends on how much money you want to spend.
An old Digital 8 camera can be very good, look for one on eBay, you only need the electronics working, gives you DNR and TBC but only PAL or NTSC.
ADVC 100 or 300 from Canopus are very good, I have the later and it's very good although with really BAD VHS I've had to go back to me ol D8 camera. They have a full frame TBC which can work better than the LTBC in the 300 but the 300 lets you tweak the procamp during capture.
If you want something really high end, the SD Connect box from Convergent will keep you happy for years to come but we're talking over USD 1000.
